If you're looking for a high-quality place to have breakfast, brunch or lunch, you can't go wrong with Jam Cafe. It's arguably one of the best three places to eat first thing in the day that we've discovered in the whole of Victoria.

The menu is awesome, and what we would describe as the kind of food that you would see featured on a on The Food Network show. All of the options are rich, plentiful and memorable without breaking your wallet. Of particular note is The Charlie Bowl, a concoction of "crumbled biscuit, hash browns, diced ham, green onions, cheddar and sausage gravy topped with two sunny side eggs". Just remember to add an extra hole to your belt if you order it.

The cafe will always have a line-up of eager patrons outside the entrance for the most of the day. Our tip for ensuring you get in fast is to arrive about 15 minutes before Jam Cafe opens in the morning, especially on the weekends. Even then you'll invariably encounter early-birds with the same idea to make sure they get their Jam fix before the rush.

Nearby to Chinatown and the Johnson Street Bridge.
