Elk Lake/Beaver Lake

Elk Lake Regional park is a popular destination for swimming, boating, rowing and fishing. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Victoria this park has several beaches, picnic areas and trails. This park also features equestrian trails, reservable group picnic areas and a nature center. The nature center is open 12 - 4 pm Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays June to September.

There is a 10km trail loop around Beaver and Elk lakes. The trail rating is easy so it is accessible to people of all ages and abilities. You can find more information on user-friendly trails here. The trails are popular for the local residents and many also use these trails for running and exercising their dogs.   

Beaver Lake has an equestrian center for horse training and exercising. There is also an area that can be used for Retriever training. Both of these areas are under license agreement. Consult your local equestrian and retriever club for access. 

Elk Lake features a fishing pier, an area for over 10km boating and boat launch as well as Elk Lake Rowing Center. Both Hamsterly Beach and Eagle Beach are on Elk Lake.. The lake is well stocked with Rainbow trout for the angler and has an area of the lake marked for boats under 10km only. A map of the entire Beaver and Elk Lake area can be found here.
